Dr. Brandt Foundation Brings Wellness, Healing, and Hope to Miami’s Lotus House Through “Radiate & Restore” Self-Care Experience

In a powerful demonstration of community care and mental wellness advocacy, the Dr. Brandt Foundation recently hosted Radiate & Restore: A Self-Care Afternoon for Mind, Body & Soul, a meaningful event designed to uplift women and children residing at Lotus House, one of the nation’s leading shelters and support centers for individuals experiencing homelessness. Held in Miami on May 27, the event transformed Lotus House into a welcoming sanctuary dedicated to healing, empowerment, and emotional well-being. Through thoughtfully curated experiences focused on self-care, connection, and joy, participants were given an opportunity to pause from everyday challenges and embrace moments of restoration. At a time when conversations around mental health and emotional wellness continue to gain urgency nationwide, initiatives like Radiate & Restore highlight the growing importance of community-centered support systems that nurture both the mind and body. A Day Dedicated to Self-Care and Emotional Wellness The afternoon featured a variety of interactive experiences created to encourage relaxation, creativity, and personal connection. Guests enjoyed pet therapy sessions presented in partnership with Canine-Assisted Therapy, temporary tattoos, music, sweet treats, and opportunities for meaningful reflection and engagement. Every detail of the event was intentionally designed to foster a sense of comfort, belonging, and celebration. The colorful environment, uplifting messaging, and hands-on activities created an atmosphere where women and children could recharge emotionally while feeling recognized and appreciated. Unlike traditional charitable events that focus solely on material support, Radiate & Restore emphasized the importance of mental and emotional wellness. The experience reflected a growing understanding that true well-being extends beyond physical necessities and includes opportunities for self-expression, confidence-building, and emotional healing. Strengthening Communities Through Compassion The Dr. Brandt Foundation has long championed initiatives that support underserved communities and promote mental health awareness. Through events such as Radiate & Restore, the organization continues to create spaces where individuals can experience encouragement, dignity, and hope. Volunteers, community partners, and supporters played an important role throughout the event, helping create an environment rooted in kindness and genuine human connection. Their collective efforts reinforced the Foundation’s mission of making emotional wellness resources more accessible while encouraging conversations around self-love, confidence, and mental health. According to Foundation leadership, the event was designed to remind every participant that they deserve care, joy, and meaningful moments of peace. The Impact of Lotus House in South Florida As the largest women’s homeless shelter in the United States, Lotus House serves as a critical resource for women, youth, and children throughout South Florida. The organization provides far more than temporary shelter, offering comprehensive support services that help individuals rebuild their lives and move toward long-term stability. Each year, Lotus House assists thousands of people through programs focused on education, healthcare, wellness, housing support, and personal development. Its holistic approach has earned national recognition as a model for addressing homelessness while empowering individuals to thrive. Events like Radiate & Restore complement Lotus House’s broader mission by creating opportunities for residents to experience moments of joy, connection, and emotional renewal that contribute to overall well-being. Renan Nerone Tony Murray Advancing Mental Health Awareness in Miami and Beyond Mental health remains one of the most pressing public health challenges facing communities across the United States. Organizations such as the Dr. Brandt Foundation are helping to reduce stigma while expanding access to support and resources for those who may otherwise go without assistance. Established in 2015 in memory of renowned dermatologist Dr. Fredric Brandt, the Foundation was created to honor his legacy and address the silent struggles often associated with depression and other mental health challenges. Through educational initiatives, community programs, and wellness-focused events, the organization continues to advocate for greater awareness and more open conversations surrounding mental health. Its work reflects a broader movement toward recognizing emotional wellness as an essential component of overall health, particularly among vulnerable and underserved populations. Community Partnerships Creating Meaningful Change The success of Radiate & Restore was made possible through collaboration among several organizations and community partners committed to making a positive difference in Miami. Canine-Assisted Therapy contributed therapeutic experiences that brought comfort and companionship to attendees. Additional support from Pura Vida Miami, Beauty Blitz, volunteers, and local advocates helped create an engaging and memorable experience that resonated with participants throughout the day. These partnerships demonstrate how businesses, nonprofits, and community leaders can work together to address important social issues while creating meaningful experiences that inspire hope and resilience. A Lasting Reminder of Care and Connection Radiate & Restore was more than a single afternoon of activities. It served as a reminder that wellness begins with feeling seen, valued, and supported. For the women and children of Lotus House, the event provided a meaningful opportunity to experience compassion, celebrate their strength, and reconnect with their own sense of worth. As Miami continues to strengthen its network of community organizations focused on mental health, homelessness, and wellness, initiatives like this showcase the transformative impact that thoughtful acts of care can have on individuals and families facing difficult circumstances. By bringing together volunteers, advocates, and local partners around a shared mission of healing and empowerment, the Dr. Brandt Foundation continues to make a lasting difference in the lives of those who need it most while advancing the conversation around mental health and emotional well-being across South Florida.   Link to article: https://hauteliving.com/2026/05/dr-brandt-foundation-brings-wellness-healing-and-hope-to-miamis-lotus-house-through-radiate-restore-self-care-experience/789849/
